Venice Carnival Masks: The Plague Doctor
“Il medico della peste”, italian for “the plague doctor”, wasn’t a very funny venetian mask even in 16th century, but the contrast between appearance and acting can result very funny.
People from Venice are usually very creative in complicated roleplaying mechanics, so being disguised as Plague Doctor is the most classical mask for witty sarcastic individuals.
